Hampshire County Divorce Records
A Hampshire County divorce record formally documents the legal dissolution of a marriage. These cases fall under family law and are handled by the Probate and Family Court. A typical record includes the names of both parties, the date the divorce was filed, the date the divorce was granted, the case number, and the county of filing. The record will also include the actual filings, including complaints, summonses, court orders, and terms related to child support, visitation, or spousal support.
Divorce records are public in Hampshire County, but access is subject to legal limits. Sensitive information, such as details of minors, financial data, health records, social security numbers, or driver’s licence numbers, is restricted.
Hampshire County divorce records can be accessed online through the state’s case search system (MassCourts). These are also available in person at the court clerk’s office, where individuals may inspect or request copies in accordance with Rule 2(f) and (j)(1) of the United Rules on Public Access to Court Records. Requests may also be submitted by mail using a Request for Copies Form. Older records may be obtained from the Court Archives. A certified copy requested from the court is charged at $20.
